Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride in one of those huge band buses? Most buses that take care of entertainers are quite large and have all blacked out or mirrored windows so you cannot see inside. The band bus can be a single layer or even a Double Decker. Think of a band bus as a home away from home or even a mobile posh hotel suite. There is very little that cannot be done on a band bus that can be done elsewhere. Imagine that you are finished with your performance (you are a rock star), and you want to relax and unwind after a successful gig. You enter your band bus and can go take a long and luxurious shower and use as much hot water as you want. Go from the shower straight to your bedroom and relax on your king size waterbed. Television monitors, music sound systems, and even your own bar are ready for you. When you want to get back to seeing other people, you can go to the lounge and relax on huge sofas or loveseats or perhaps you want to dance a little on your dance floor. It is amazing the things that you can find on band buses today. 
An entertainer is a special kind of person who has to perform with high energy levels for a few hours consistently and he or she will require just as much down time. You may have heard of the interesting events that often takes place on band buses but that is sometimes what the performer needs for his or her downtime. A Band bus can and is often customized to meet the needs of the performer. The walls are often carpeted to help limit the amount of noise that travels from outside to the interior and to limit the noise from one area to another. Drivers for band buses often find it a very difficult job to do because of many different factors. The driver is expected to place the bus in narrow spots and move it down dark alleys to avoid fans when possible. The driver may be required to clean up after the entertainers and often has to drive for many hours at a time. A band bus driver has to be careful when driving so that the performers and their guest are comfortable and do not have to deal with sudden moves from the bus. Band Buses are unique vehicles used to transport some of the most unusual people in the entertainment industry. Even movie stars sometimes use a band bus to get around because they do not like to use airplanes. The band bus is often an easier way to keep the entourage together unless a private jet is available. |
